Vintage Longines Admiral 5-Star Automatic Doctor's Watch

Doctor's watches are some of the rarest items in watch collecting. Most doctors got by with a simple secondhand for pulse-taking. However, it's easy to forget a time when a second hand was a premium feature, and accuracy was easily overlooked; this was Longines' answer. Part of their Admiral 5-star line, which was their top-end line for timekeeping accuracy, this watch featured a seconds hand, enhanced accuracy, and a pulsometer on the dial for easy pulse measurement. The caduceus at the bottom indicates that this was made for individuals in the medical profession. This particular example is crafted in a gold-filled case measuring 35mm across (appearing larger due to the small lugs) with a silver sunburst dial, featuring an automatic high-grade movement in excellent condition.
