Vintage British Gent's Ring with Peacock Hued Black Opal

Opals have captivated collectors for centuries, appealing to both men and women. Though opal jewelry is often associated with feminine styles, certain designs highlight the gem's bolder side, making them ideal for male collectors as well. Take, for example, this natural Australian black opal: its deep, peacock-like hues of blue, green, and violet are set against a dark background, offering a rich, understated palette that gives the stone a distinctly masculine edge.

We have custom-made many gentlemen's opal rings, but this particular piece came to us from a British estate, and we felt it should be offered to our opal-collecting clients. The low and secure bezel setting makes it ideal for casual wear, though it should still be worn with care, as is the case with any opal ring. 

This signet-style ring is crafted from 9k yellow gold and bears a complete set of hallmarks indicating its origin. It combines the timeless allure of opals with a bold, masculine design, making it an heirloom-worthy piece that speaks to both history and individuality.
