Vintage Australian Teal Blue Sapphire Two Stone Ring

This stunning sapphire two-stone ring has hidden depths. At first glance, the sapphires appear deep navy blue, but they come alive in natural light (see pictures), showcasing flashes of blue and green that blend to create a rich teal shade. These are natural sapphires sourced from Australia, a rare location known for its bicolor sapphires. A single gold leaf design is placed between the sapphires, elegantly framing each gem. 

The ring was crafted by a local lapidary who sourced and cut the stones himself, designing the ring specifically to complement them. Based on his chronology, this piece was made circa 1980. The use of 10k gold also supports this dating, as many jewelers turned to it during the Carter era in response to rising gold prices.
