Top Quality Boulder Opal Set in Rope-Style Gold Ring

This exceptional estate ring features one of the most striking green opals we've ever seen—a solid natural boulder opal still attached to its original layer of Australian ironstone. Unlike doublets or triplets, this gem is a true solid opal, prized for its authenticity and vibrant color.

The opal features a unique chaff color pattern with vibrant green, orange, red, and blue hues, with green being the dominant color. The ring is designed as a bezel-set solitaire, but it is anything but ordinary. The bezel is enhanced with a rope pattern, while the shank incorporates gold wirework, known as cannetille, giving the ring a slightly filigree appearance. Although it is unmarked, the design clearly shows an Italian influence.

Please note that, as this is a solid opal in an original vintage ring, minor crazing is present. However, the opal remains in good condition, and we believe it will last for generations with gentle care.
