Top Quality Boulder Opal Set in Rope-Style Gold Ring

This stunning estate ring showcases one of the most remarkable green opals we have encountered. The solid natural boulder opal is still attached to its base layer of host rock, which in this case is Australian ironstone. Unlike doublets or triplets, this is a solid boulder opal.

The opal features a unique chaff color pattern with vibrant green, orange, red, and blue hues, with green being the dominant color. The ring is designed as a bezel-set solitaire, but it is anything but ordinary. The bezel is enhanced with a rope pattern, while the shank incorporates gold wirework, known as cannetille, giving the ring a slightly filigree appearance. Although it is unmarked, the design clearly shows an Italian influence.

Please note that, as this is a solid opal in an original vintage ring, minor crazing is present. However, the opal remains in good condition, and we believe it will last for generations with gentle care.
