Spessartite Halo Pendant- Rare Orange Garnet
Spessartite Halo Pendant- Rare Orange Garnet
SKU:77781765
Known for its bold, sunset-orange color, spessartite is one of the most striking—and rare—types of garnet. This fantastic round gem is from a new source in Loliondo, Tanzania, renowned for producing golden-orange gems with lighter tones than those found in other sources. Traces of iron and manganese cause the orange color in spessartite, and those with a golden undertone tend to be more on the manganese side. This gem features two types of inclusions: white 'sugar crystals' and black spots, which serve as proof of its origin and are challenging to discern with the naked eye. This garnet was faceted into a Portuguese round shape, making it brilliant even in low lighting and hiding imperfections in the gem. We set this in a modern white gold halo pendant mount, perfect for showcasing the unusual color.
Details: 14k white gold pendant set with 1.37ct round spessartite garnet (Loliondo, Tanzania, untreated) and .21ct diamond accents (I1 GH).
