Nouveau Platinum Filigree & Diamond Cocktail Ring

This beautiful platinum filigree and diamond ring was crafted at the tail end of the Nouveau era, just before the Art Deco era took hold. We see some subtle influences of both here —the overall shape of the ring is a little bit Deco, as are the European-cut diamonds and intricate filigree work. However, the bezel setting, curved lines, and graceful profile on the hand are classic Nouveau styles that make this a beautiful and unusual ring. The ring features a half-carat Old European-cut diamond of excellent quality, set in a bezel at the center, surrounded by intricate wire filigree and additional diamonds that sparkle out to the viewer. Due to the softer nature of the platinum, this ring has worn in places, which has then been restored at some point in its past- the shank has been replaced with thicker white gold, and the overall profile is slightly skewed; neither of these is visible on the hand or without very close inspection. We have cleaned and inspected this ring, and it is now fit for another 100 years of wear for the lucky lady who gets to slide this on her hand.
