The long, drop-style pendants are known as "lavaliers," which became popular in France around the turn of the century, coinciding with plunging necklines that allowed women to showcase this necklace style. 

This particular lavalier pendant is distinctive for its platinum composition and impressive length—nearly two inches! The entire piece was meticulously hand-fabricated in solid platinum, showcasing incredible intricacy. It features four old European-cut diamonds, each bezel-set, and a delicate row of seed pearl accents. This graceful antique pendant is perfect for pairing with a little black dress or any formal V-neckline. 

The pendant, measuring 18 inches in length, comes on its original handmade platinum chain, but you can certainly wear it on another chain if desired.
