Natural Alexandrite & Diamond Engagement Ring 18k Gold

Natural alexandrite—one of the rarest and most extraordinary gemstones—is renowned for its remarkable color change, shifting from vibrant emerald green in daylight to a rich ruby red under incandescent light. This captivating gem also holds the distinction of being June’s birthstone. This engagement ring features a 3/4-carat alexandrite, a large size for this rare gem. While the first known alexandrites were discovered in Russia, this particular gem comes from modern deposits in India. 

Unlike earlier specimens that showcased dramatic color changes, this one has a more subtle transition; it displays a pleasing teal green during the day and shifts to a grayish-purple at night. We still consider this a moderate to intense color change, and many clients prefer the cooler tones of Indian material. Additionally, Indian alexandrite is significantly more affordable, allowing us to offer larger gems with superior cuts compared to other sources. 

The gem is set in a vintage-style mounting with diamond accents and intricately carved goldwork, giving the ring an old-world charm. Although designed as an engagement or wedding ring, it also makes a fantastic June birthstone piece for anyone looking for a unique alexandrite ring.
