If rings could talk, this one would have an incredible story to share! Crafted in white gold around the 1950s, this engagement ring features a timeless mid-century design with two gracefully bypassing arms that cradle a stunning center diamond. The center diamond is an old mine-cut, dating back to approximately 1880, as indicated by its square outline and distinctive, irregular facets. With a size of over 6mm, this large diamond truly shines, even in low light.
Likely mined in India or Brazil, this diamond predates the discovery of diamonds in Africa, giving it a warmth and unique inclusions that differ from modern stones. These characteristics are not visible at first glance; all you notice is a fabulous diamond ring. This likely explains why someone chose to remount and wear it in the 1950s, and it's also why a lucky lady may want to wear it again soon!
Details: Vintage 14k white gold engagement ring set with a 1.00ct old mine-cut diamond (I1 clarity, KL color) and features .08ct single-cut diamond accents, circa 1950.
