This fabulous antique carved jade and diamond pendant is ready to become your statement piece. Crafted in France in the 1920s, this piece would have been at the pinnacle of fashion: carved jade with a nod to Orientalism, geometric and structured diamond lettering with a nod to the Art Deco era, and a large size and fun design that appealed to the flapper crowd. This piece is crafted in yellow gold, featuring a floral and pearl-set framework that surrounds the center jade and platinum panel. The jade is a masterfully carved piece of natural jadeite, featuring a wonderful celadon or mint-green hue. Riveted into the center is a platinum and diamond plaque with the initials “ELG” (spelled EGL; the practice at the time was to have the last name initial in the center). This is a sizable piece, measuring 2 inches long, and would have been worn low over a black dress. Fabulous!
Details: antique pendant in 14k yellow gold and platinum set with carved jadeite jade (Natural color, semi-translucent, lightly mottled green) with .50ctw round diamonds (SI1 IJ) and seed pearl accents, France circa 1925.
