Deco Die-Struck 18k White Gold Blush Zircon Ring
Deco Die-Struck 18k White Gold Blush Zircon Ring
SKU:88810627
This original Art Deco ring mounting came to us unset and as new old stock from a retired jeweler’s collection. With its intricate filigree work and delicate split claw prongs, it required a strong focal point. Staying true to the era, we chose this natural blush zircon as the center gem; zircons of all colors were mined in Sri Lanka and were popular in the 1920s and 1930s. This gem comes from a modern African source and boasts a sought-after rosy hue—between pink, brown, and purple—reminiscent of the perfect sweep of soft, natural-toned makeup. While this blush zircon is a warm hue, the pinks and purples in the gem stand out against a white gold setting. This round gem features Portuguese round cutting, making it sparkle, and is an excellent choice for a right-hand ring, as it matches all colors. Die-struck rings were created through a process that involved stamping and hand-carving rings from hardened white gold. As a result, these rings are lighter in weight than cast rings but have more intricate detail and are very durable. Contact us with questions about jewelry manufacturing techniques.
Details: antique 18k white gold ring set with 1.67ct round natural zircon (rosy-pink hue, likely heated), die-struck with filigree accents, mount circa 1925.
