Gem Opal Ring 18ky + plat o1.45ct d.20ct vs gh

This custom two-tone ring is crafted of platinum and 18k yellow gold and set with a fiery Australian opal. This opal hails from Lightning Ridge, New South Wales, and has a grey base tone, which allows the play of color to pop! This gem has a steady blue-violet color, and then, at certain angles, it comes alive with a broad flash of green and red (see the last photo for color in natural light). Due to the directionality and movement of the opal, we designed a ring mounting with flowing lines and curvature. A row of channel-set baguette diamonds leads the eye up to the opal, following platinum "ribbons" lines for a pleasing effect. The whole ring was also designed to sit low on the hand and be comfortable to wear- it could even be an engagement ring if worn with care.
