This charming brooch is perfect for anyone proud of their South American heritage. Crafted in Peru around 1970, it pays homage to the Incan fertility symbol Pachamama. Is it a frog? A monkey? We’ll let the buyer decide. Made from exquisite 18k yellow gold, it features intricate filigree work and is centered with a natural Colombian emerald. The Incas cherished these emeralds for thousands of years as a significant gem, rich in history and symbolism.
This brooch showcases both Incan culture and lore and is versatile enough to be worn by anyone, regardless of gender. It can also be converted into a pendant upon request.
Details: Vintage 18k yellow gold brooch in a Pachamama design, set with a 0.50ct square emerald-cut Colombian emerald (oiled), weighing a total of 4.1g, circa 1970.
