Carved Australian Nobby Opal in Freeform Gold Solitaire

You are looking at one of the most unique rings in our store! This custom-made piece features a stunning crystal opal set in the center, showcasing every color of the rainbow. The opal was sourced directly from an Australian miner and lapidary, who deemed it remarkable due to its incredible fire. It was discovered in a larger nodule, known in the trade as a nobby opal, which provided the lapidary with the opportunity to carve a deeper and thicker gem in its natural pattern.

Understanding the need for a custom setting, our master goldsmith crafted a bezel that elegantly wraps around the opal, which resembles wave crests or flames. The grooved and carved surface of the gem is left exposed, enabling it to capture light and dazzle the viewer with its vibrant play of color. Photos cannot fully capture its beauty; the color and texture of this ring are genuinely one-of-a-kind.
