Cabochon Sunstone & Diamond Pendant

We designed this pendant to focus on the unusual sunstone set in the center. These gems derive their orangish-red color from copper impurities, but in this gem, the copper remained in larger pieces, trapping the light and creating a shimmering effect. The result looks closer to an orange moonstone (a close cousin of sunstone) than it does to the faceted sunstone we typically see. We set this into an FWCJ original pendant mounting with a simple diamond accent so as not to detract from the phenomenon within the gemstone.
