The star of the show is the aquamarine, which is beautifully faceted into a square emerald cut (also known as an Asscher cut) and displays exquisite luster. This gem comes from an old collection of Brazilian aquamarines, specifically from the legendary Santa Maria mines that have long ceased production. While many aquamarines may approach this color, none can compare to the rich azure blue of true Santa Maria aquamarines, which display no modifying hues.
