This classic Art Deco ring beautifully combines two shades of blue: aquamarine and sapphire. The sapphires, particularly the specialty cut synthetic ones, were a popular accent among jewelers in the 1920s as they enhanced geometric designs. While sapphires are often paired with diamonds, two trillion-cut sapphires flank a radiant-cut baby blue aquamarine in this piece. The geometric lines of the ring are emphasized by the shapes of the gemstones, all of which are bezel set flush to the top of the ring.
The sides and gallery of the ring feature exquisite floral filigree work and are in excellent condition. This type of ring is known as a die-struck filigree ring, as it was created using a giant stamping process, with the gem setting and filigree details applied by hand afterward.
This ring has withstood the test of time and would make a stunning right-hand or engagement ring.
Details: Art Deco 18k white gold die-struck ring featuring a 1.50ct radiant-cut aquamarine (likely heated) and .15ctw trillion-cut synthetic blue sapphire accents; circa 1920s.
