This classic Art Deco ring is a beautiful marriage of two blue shades: aquamarine and sapphire. Sapphires, significantly specialty cut synthetic sapphires, were a favorite accent gem among jewelers in the 1920s- they helped highlight a geometric design. Usually, we see the sapphires used with diamonds, but in this case the two trillion sapphires flank a radiant cut baby blue aquamarine. The geometric lines of the ring are reinforced by the shapes of the gems, all of which are bezel set flush to the top of the ring. The sides and gallery of the ring are detailed with floral filigree work and are in excellent condition. This type of ring is known as a die-struck filigree ring since the shape was made with a giant stamping, and then the gem setting and filigree were applied by hand. This ring has survived and would make an excellent right-hand or engagement ring.
Details: Art Deco 18k white gold die-struck ring set with 1.50ct aquamarine radiant (likely heated) and .15ctw trillion synthetic blue sapphire accents; circa 1920s.
