Antique Eye-Shaped Montana Sapphire & Diamond Ring

This fabulous “eye” or “boat” ring mounting arrived in our shop with a damaged center stone. Clearly of exceptional quality, we restored the ring’s mounting and carefully selected a new center stone. The ring is crafted in platinum-topped yellow gold, a hallmark of the Edwardian era, and features two sizable Old Mine cut diamond accents. We chose a stunning navy blue sapphire as the centerpiece for this ring, as the color complements the warmth of the diamonds (which have a subtle champagne hue) and further enhances the illusion that this ring is an eye. This is an impressively large, round sapphire of coveted Montana, USA origin, with a lovely blue hue just kissed with violet, unlike most Montana sapphires, which tend to have a green undertone. Although not visible from above, the ring is highly detailed on its sides, featuring filigree work that is in excellent condition. This ring is easily adjustable to fit any finger size and would make a lovely sapphire engagement ring or a vintage right-hand option.
