You read that correctly: this Art Deco brooch is set with an incredible red jade tablet. During the height of the 1920s, when the Art Deco design period was at its peak, so too was a love of Orientalism, with imports of Japanese and Chinese art reaching new heights. Some of the most incredible Art Deco pieces we see are set with Asian antiques and jade, a symbol of good luck during that era. This unusual piece is a perfect meld of East and West. In the rich French tradition, the hand-fabricated platinum mounting is set with diamonds; unfortunately, the piece is unsigned. The center of the brooch is set with a large rectangular cabochon tablet of orange-red jadeite, showcasing top color and translucency - see the last picture with light passing through the jade. This would look amazing gracing your lapel or hat, or converting it into a pendant.

Details: antique brooch hand-crafted in platinum with a 14k white gold pin stem, set with 10ctw+ red jadeite tablet (natural jade, natural color) and .25ctw natural old-cut diamond accents, circa 1925.
