Antique Bezel Set Teal-Blue Sapphire & Old Euro Diamond Halo Ring

This classic antique engagement ring is set with an unusual sapphire- a modern addition to a century-old ring mounting. The classic halo design mount was crafted in America circa 1900 from rich yellow gold and set with large, sparkling European-cut diamonds. When this mounting arrived, it was missing a center stone, so we had fun selecting a new gem to serve as the focal point of the ring. We chose the sapphire you see here, paying homage to the popularity of sapphires in antique engagement rings, and because the gold mounting accentuates the unusual tone of this gem. The sapphire is blue, but it features color zones of blue and lighter green, producing flashes of teal. Compared to other sapphires, this gem has a noticeable teal undertone relative to those with a purple hue. The low-profile bezel is perfect for everyday wear, allowing you to enjoy this sapphire while still getting lots of sparkle.
